Thor Tampers   

53.2mm Bubinga Tamper.  This wood is also known as "African Rosewood."  I bought a good supply of this wood several years ago.  I thought I was out of it.  This is the wood in my daily tamper.  It is one of my favorite woods for color and feel.  It is hard to get a good picture.

The La Spaziale in its various forms is one of the best home espesso machines on the market.  I emphasis HOME machines.  I have owned a number of E61 commercial machines.  No complaints, but in many ways you get too much of a good thing!  The smaller Portafilter of the LaSpaziale lends itself to a much richer shot.  However a standard 53mm tamper is a loose fit.  That extra .2mm makes a big difference in getting the prefect tamp!

NOTE: The new LaSpaziale double baskets (they have writing on the side showing the capacity) are a smaller diameter than the older baskets!  I am working on a compromise size that will fit both.  I couldn't use my tamper fitted to the older basket on the new basket.
